Silhouettes

In one of the earlier stages of my career I used to make abstract sculptures, often based on organic forms, with straightforward structures and smooth shapes.

In the anecdotal period I experimented with the human figure and its adventures.

At a certain point I asked myself if the human form could be abstracted further, leaving only the outline or if you will the silhouette of the intended figure.

Therefore a sculptural language reduced to its most basic - almost 2-dimensional - format was a challenge intriguing enough to take on.

In this way sculptures were born which - in their simplicity - bring my ideas into expression with a minimum of volume.

Some even tell a complete tale.
